The GLADtones Barbershop Quartet

The GLADtones Barbershop Quartet is one of three quartets that originates

from the TAKIN' IT EASY ensemble. The name, GLADtones, derives

from the first letter of each singer's names; G for Glenn, tenor; L for

Lowell, baritone; A for Allen, bass; and D for Dick, lead. The men are

proud of the fact that when you add up their ages, it will total over two

hundred ninety seven (297) years!!

The GLADtones have been singing together for several years now and enjoy traveling to various events throughout the year. In addition to singing

Valentine's Greetings to loved ones each year, they sing and entertain at

Birthday and Anniversary parties, neighborhoods get together, company

events, Assisted Living/Retirement Centers, hospitals, open houses,

political rallies, car shows, church functions, Senior Expos, etc.. In 2009, they were the Lead Entertainers at the Senior Expo in Greenwood.

Keep them in mind if you are planning an affair and wish to have some

good barbershop harmony music for your attendees. They will be "GLAD"

and you will love their four-part harmony tones!

The LADS of Harmony Barbershop Quartet is another quartet originating from the Takin' It Easy Barbershop Ensemble. These men have been performing at various venues for several years and enjoy the sound of blended voices as they sing the barbershop and gospel songs from the past and present. The newest chapter quartet is Speed Bump. Rumor has it that they couldn't agree on a name so they decided "on the next highway sign". Liston and Lyle sang together for many years in Anytime Quartet; Rick and Ron have quartet experience in Steppin' Up and Friends of Mine. Liston lives in Columbus and Ron is from Franklin. Lyle and Rick are both from Greenwood.

Lyle Pettigrew, commented that practicing is FUN but the most fun is entertaining our audience. The quartet is ready to go with its smooth and unique blend of voices and provides entertainment for all occasions, including some wonderful comedy numbers. Contact us for your next event.

The vocal group Coalition was formed around the year 2000, composed of men from the Chordlighters Chorus who wanted to sing in a small group, yet were not quite ready for the quartet experience. We started out as an octet and over the years due to retirements, and singers moving on to sing in quartets........whoops...we became a quartet.

Two years ago we started breaking in our Lead, Marc Hagn of Franklin. Greg Busch has extended his talents from singing Lead to become our Baritone and hails from Indianapolis. Tom Fricke remains as our strong (but diminutive in structure) Bass and lives in Greenwood. Steve Warner produces those high angelic notes of a Tenor and resides in Shelbyville.

The PLADtones Barbershop Quartet has sung together for over 10 years and has entertained throughout central Indiana at all kinds of venues bringing the barbershop style of music that has been sung and loved for many, many years. The four (4) singers are all members of the Takin� It Easy Barbershop Ensemble and they do enjoy blending their voices as they sing the various types of music; gospel, romantic, fun songs from the past and present. Four Part Harmony for All Occasions

The TAKIN' IT EASY singers are members of the Chordlighter Barbershop Chorus that represent the Columbus-Greenwood, In. Chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. This group of mostly retired men love to sing the barbershop songs of yesteryear, songs that most people recognize and have heard and sung through the years. TAKIN' IT EASY has performed for many occasions and places such as; anniversary/birthday parties, union meetings, fund raiser events, Oktoberfests, business functions, reunion banquets, club socials, church functions, political gatherings, hospitals, retirement and assisted living centers and senior citizens centers. In addition, a quartet from the group sings Valentine's Greetings every February for those who wish to express their love and affection to special loved ones. Whether performing as an ensemble or quartet, these men take great pleasure in singing the old style four-part harmony that had its beginning in the early 1900's. Seeing all the smiles and bringing back good memories of the days gone by makes singing the barbershop harmony so rewarding to the group.
