The Chordlighter Chorus

     The Chordlighter Chorus is a barbershop chorus composed of approximately 45 members from Greenwood to Columbus and surrounding communities. We are a chapter of the Barbershop Harmony Society. The chapter was formed in the 1980.s from merging the Columbus and Greenwood chapters. Since then, the Chordlighters have been a very active and dynamic group that takes pride in its performances and quality of singing.

     The Chordlighters perform at a variety of locations and occasions. They competed at the 2003 Buckeye Invitational hosted by the Singing Buckeyes of Columbus, Ohio. Throughout the year the Chordlighters sing at a variety of churches and community events, and are in high demand during the Christmas season. Here are some typical singing engagements for the Chordlighters:

  • Spring Cabarets in both Columbus and Greenwood.
  • An annual Fall Show in Columbus and/or Greenwood.
  • Annual Performance at the Franklin Courthouse Community Christmas Tree Lighting
  • Several Church Sings throughout the summer.
  • Singing at the spring and/or fall Convention competing with other chapters in the Cardinal District of the Barbershop Harmony Society.
  • Singing National Anthem for - Indiana Downs (Shelbyville, IN), Indianapolis Indians baseball game, Bartholomew County 4H Fair.
